Beginners Knitting -Thursday 14th & 21st March – 6:30pm – 8:30pm
Over 2 sessions learn how to knit! You will learn about different yarns and needle sizes, how to understand a ball band and make a tension swatch. You will learn how to cast on, master garter stitch, purl and cast off thus ending up with your very first knitted piece! The sky is the limit.
What to bring: All materials are included. All participants will be given a ball of wool and knitting needles to take home.

Tutor: Linda Litchfield
Linda has a BA in fine art textiles from Goldsmiths, university of London and a PTTLLS teaching certificate. She learnt tosew and knit as a child and, despite some career distractions, has been honing her skills by almost daily practice for the last fifty or so years. Her personal preference is for hand sewing and knitting but she use’s amachine for patchwork and clothes-making and for some embroidery. For the past 5 years Linda has taught classes part-time in knitting, patchwork and quilting and hand and machine embroidery.
Linda enjoys very much passing on her skills and knowledge to learners and encouraging the fulfilment that the practice of these crafts can bring.
