Tutor: Linda Litchfield

Linda has a BA in fine art textiles from Goldsmiths, university of London and a PTTLLS  teaching certificate. She learnt to sew and knit as a child and, despite some career distractions, has been honing her skills by almost daily practice for the last fifty or so years. Her personal preference is for hand sewing and knitting but she use’s amachine for patchwork and clothes-making and for some embroidery.  For the past 5 years Linda has taught classes part-time in knitting, patchwork and quilting and hand and machine embroidery.

Linda enjoys very much passing on her skills and knowledge to learners and encouraging the fulfilment that the practice of these crafts can bring.

An artist who makes work which frequently incorporates stitch and knit. Found objects, recycled materials, charity shops, old postcards and books, aged quilts, nonsense rhymes and folk tales are important sources of inspiration, coupled with a love of colour and an obsession with process and the hand-made.
