How to make a piped cushion Saturday March 10th 10am-4pm
During this workshop you will be shown how to make a cushion cover with a zip fastening with piping that will create a stylish professional look. The workshop day is 6 hours including a one hour break for lunch. Refreshments included but not food.
What you will learn:
• How to correctly measure a cushion pad
• Marking of fabric and cutting
• Cutting bias binding for piping
• Applying piping
• Inserting a zip
All materials included.
Level: You need to be a confident beginner as this workshop requires basic sewing machine skills and needs to be comfortable sewing straight lines, no experience with zips or piping is needed. (We have a beginners ‘Learn to sew’ workshop)
Tutor: The workshop is taught by Sue Nolan who has a wealth of experience in producing professional soft furnishings. She trained at The London College of Furniture, worked at Designers Guild and has since worked for private clients and taught soft furnishings to a wide range of students. Her work has been sold in Liberty, London and has been featured in i-D, House & Garden, ELLE Decoration amongst other magazines.
