Kids Beginners Leather Workshop – Saturday April 21st 10am-12pm £35
Come and learn how to be an artisan leather crafter for a day and make your very own leather wallet/pouch to take home!
Leather craft focuses the mind, develops dexterity and creativity. During this 2 hour Saturday morning workshop you will select your own leather colour and thread, learn how to master the two-needled saddle stitching technique, use a range of traditional hand tools and also get to personalise your work with your own initials, all under the confident guidance of Garry Meehan who has run over 180(!) leather craft sessions with kids.
This workshop is suitable for children age 8 and over. No experience necessary. All materials are included.
About the Tutor:
Established by Garry Meehan, the name Rye Hide reflects the area of Peckham Rye, south London, where his workshop is based. Garry uses simple and traditional leather-working methods to make individually handcrafted goods, from handbags to card holders, glasses cases to change purses, which are as unique as they are functional.
