Lino Block Printing on Fabric – Sunday 18th November – 2pm – 5pm
Join us in this fun and explorative Block Printing on Fabric workshop where you will learn how to bring your ideas to print and make a set of two linen tea towels with your own designs.
You’ll be taught how to turn your ideas into sketches for your final design, how to use traditional carving tools to carve your lino block and shown how to mix and pair colours.
There will be extra cotton fabric provided for you to play and experiment with before making your tea towels.
The possibilities are truly endless with block printing – you never know exactly how your design will turn out and that’s the most beautiful part. Akva Lai will be there to teach you and guide you through the process, and at the end of the day you will be able to take your own hand printed linen fabric enough to make two tea towels. As well as carved lino stamps, which you can reuse at home for printing on fabric or paper.
This workshop is perfect for both beginners and people who have done block printing before and would like to try making something new.
