Silver Clay Jewellery – Friday 3rd May – 9:30am – 2:30pm
An introduction to silver clay jewellery making with Jennie Heppenstall from ‘In Pans Garden’
Silver clay, or PMC, is a wonderfully versatile material. Made from recycled silver and mixed with an organic binder, it becomes pure silver when fired. Pure alchemy!
In the morning you will play around with different textures, patterns, shapes etc before settling on a final design for your chosen piece of jewellery.
You will learn how to roll, texture & shape the clay, how to dry and refine your piece before firing.
Jennie will fire your pieces here at Stag & Bow while you wait and will also demonstrate other ways of firing that you can do at home; on a gas hob and with a gas torch.
Finally you will get to polish and finish your piece ready to be worn or gifted.
Workshop includes 7g of silver clay ( enough for a small pendant and 2 small earrings ) and all tools necessary to make your piece of jewellery but if there is anything you would like to bring with you, please feel free to do so. We will also provide refreshments but we ask that you please bring a packed lunch.
Jennie looks forward to meeting you for your jewellery making experience.
